Calling all female identifying folks (femme/trans/women = FTW) that haven’t been on a bike ever / as an adult / in years, or just want to get more comfortable with biking basics.
Join us for a hands-on, FTW-only workshop where we’ll demystify the basics of biking - led by women, for women. If there’s interest, we may hold more workshops as a series to get comfortable with commute/city biking!
We’ll cover:
✅ Bike Setup - basic bike fit, seat height, lights
✅ Shifting basics - when to shift, how to shift, types of equipment
✅ Communication - hand signals, verbal signals to indicate your planned route
✅ Q&A - anything that’s on your mind - sore rears, favorite routes, frugal gear, anything
✅ Group ride - a 2-3 mile loop through the park to practice signals, shifting, and try out the things we’ve learned
If you have a bike - bring it. We’ll have volunteers that can help you set height and walk you through your bike. If you don’t have a bike, we hope to bring a few extras from the hub that you can try out.
Space is limited to 20 participants, so get registered!
This class is FREE to the community. If you would like to donate to Chain Reaction for attending the class, we’d suggest a $10 donation.
