Community Workshop: Women’s (Re)Introduction to Biking
Calling all women/femme/trans/nb folks that have not biked ever / as an adult / in years, or just want to get more comfortable with biking basics.
Join us for a hands-on workshop where we’ll demystify the basics of biking - led by women. This might be the first of series to get comfortable with commute/city biking if there's interest!
We’ll cover:
✅ Bike Setup - basic bike fit, seat height, lights
✅ Shifting basics - when to shift, how to shift, types of equipment
✅ Communication - hand signals, verbal signals to indicate your planned route
✅ Q&A - anything that’s on your mind - sore rears, favorite routes, frugal gear, anything
✅ Group ride - a 2-3 mile loop through the park to practice signals, shifting, and try out the things we’ve learned
If you have a bike - bring it! It's okay if it's got some dust on it - this is a no judgment zone. We’ll have volunteers that can help you set up and walk through the functions of your bike. If you don’t have a bike, we hope to bring a few from the hub that you can try out.
Space is limited to 20 participants, so register here!
This class is FREE to the community. If you would like to donate to Chain Reaction for attending the class, we’d suggest a $10 donation.
Any questions, please reach out to us at CRBH.Volunteer@gmail.com
Sorry fellas, this event is limited to women/femme/trans/nb volunteers and participants.
