FTWN Event: Mt. Trashmore Climb & Social
FTWN (femme/trans/women/nonbinary) Event!
We’ll meet at Chain Reaction at 5:30pm, then bike over to Mt Trashmore at 5:45pm (arriving Trashmore around 6pm). We’ll climb to the summit once (by bike or foot) and then head to Lion Bridge for a social on their patio.

Join us for a ride and tour of 2-3 dessert stops around Cedar Rapids. This is a community-paced, no-drop ride with several stops, aiming for about 10 miles round trip.
Agenda: Meet at Chain Reaction at 5:30 pm. Store any stuff, pick up some water, air up your tires/etc. Departing CRBH at 5:45pm! Bring a few $$ if you want to buy a snack or two on the way.

Community Workshop: Trailside Maintenance
If you’re planning on going on some longer rides (or RAGBRAI), what trailside maintenance do you need to be prepared to handle? What if you break a spoke, break your chain, hit your derailleur?
Our volunteers will cover some of the most common trailside issues and what tools to bring to be able to get yourself home! We won’t focus on flat tires (that’s a separate workshop), but other potential issues:
Most common mechanical issues that occur during a ride
How to get your bike in a safe riding condition
Tools and spare parts to carry
Bring your questions and your own bike so you’re able to learn the techniques and tips on your personal rig. We’ll cover the necessary tools and techniques to keep you rolling!

Getting that bike ready to roll and notice that your tires might not be so aired up?
Join us for a step-by-step guide on how to:
Remove and replace a bike tube and tire
Patch a tube
Reinstall a wheel
Bring your own bike so you’re able to learn the techniques and tips on your personal rig. We’ve got plenty of bikes to practice on in case you need to borrow one. We’ll cover the necessary tools and techniques to keep you rolling!

Event: Bike-packing Overnight to Morgan Creek
Join us for a special overnight bike-packing trial trek to Morgan Creek in collaboration with our friends at Goldfinch Cyclery!
This is a self-supported ride to carry all your gear for a night out under the stars at Morgan Creek Group Camp, and a prequel to SWIFT Campout, the annual solstice ride hosted by Goldfinch (this year June 20-21, to Central City).
What: Group ride, led from Goldfinch Cyclery to Morgan Creek Group Camp (~10 miles)
When: Depart Goldfinch around 6pm, bike to Morgan Creek Park. Bring your dinner, snacks, bevies, and your camping gear. Return Saturday morning, 6/6. Depart at your leisure, head home or back to town.
Who: anyone who wants to try out a single overnight of bike-packing in a group setting.
You are also welcome to join for just the ride, or just the camping!
